Harris Reaches 1,000 Career Points as SUNO Tops Louisiana Christian
PINEVILLE, La. — November 4, 2025 — Southern University at New Orleans senior guard Jordan Harris reached a major career milestone Tuesday night, surpassing 1,000 career points as the Lady Knights defeated Louisiana Christian University 80–68 inn Pineville Tuesday night. Harris, who has amassed 1,018 points thus far, will use the remainder of the season to build on an incredible career as a Knight.
Harris led the Knights with 26 points, connecting on 9 of 14 field goals and an impressive 6-of-8 from three-point range, while adding eight assists, four rebounds, and five steals. The win keeps SUNO unbeaten at 3–0 to start the season.
Head Coach Destinie Smith reflected on Harris' milestone and her impact on the SUNO program:
"Jordan has been the backbone of this team since we reinstated athletics in 2022," Smith said. "She was one of my first recruits, and she's built a legacy here that goes far beyond scoring. Her leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to community service embody everything SUNO Athletics stands for—Excellence, Service, and Character."
The Knights trailed 20–17 after the first quarter but used a dominant second frame—outscoring Louisiana Christian 26–17—to take control. SUNO shot 64.7% from the field and 66.7% from deep in the second quarter, led by Harris' efficient scoring and floor leadership.
Freshman Katelynn Wilson added 20 points, five rebounds, and six steals, while forward Hannah Cornelious posted a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double. Tierra Sylvas chipped in 10 points, and Kaylan Jack contributed five assists and four steals.
SUNO's defensive pressure forced 24 turnovers, converting them into 29 points off turnovers, a key factor in the victory. The Knights also dominated in transition, outscoring the Wildcats 20–10 on fast breaks.
The Knights will return home to host LSU-Shreveport on Friday and PensacolaChristian on Saturday at The Castle, continuing what has already been a historic start to the 2025–26 season.
