Bio
Olen Parker, Jr. was hired in 2023 but has been involved in baseball for most of his life. Parker has coached and played baseball for 25 years and even had the chance to scout on the professional level. This experience has made him a coach who is good at scouting and recruiting talent and working to build students into the best student-athletes they can be.
Parker was the first African-American to coach in the WAC conference and in Conference USA. He also accomplished a lot as a player for Grambling State University and Western Oklahoma State college that led him to be drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1986.
Now as head coach of the Knights he is in charge of the ongoing oversight of student athlete’s conduct both on and off the field, teaches and develops a baseball program that will work to develop these athletes individually and collectively as a team.
